Sea Sponges

Sea Sponges

contain a natural enzyme that inhibits but does not prevent the growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria. After each use, allow youyr sponge to air dry completely. You can disinfect your sponge with the methods below:

  • Immerse sponge in a solution of 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 1 part water. This also removes discoloration that may occur.
  • in a solution of warm water and a few drops of Tea Tree Oil. This inhibits 60 strains of bacteria and will eliniate any odor in your sponge.
  • in a solution of 1 T of vinegar in 1 cup of warm water
  • in a solution of 1 T of baking soda and 1 cup of warm water.

Do Not

  • Do not use bleach on a natural sponge as it will weaken the structure of the sponge causing it to deteriorate over time.
  • Do not microwave or dry in a clothes dryer, this will shrink and harden the sponge.

Felted Wool Dryer Ball Care

Good News! Under normal conditions (just being left in the dryer) these balls will last for years!

You can if you like, and we highly recommend it, add a couple of drops of essential oil to each ball before loads of laundry. When your laundry is all dried and warm, it will smell wonderful as well!
